Returns and Exchanges

Proof of purchase in the form of a Shelmerdine original receipt is required for all return or exchange transactions. All returns and exchanges must be in original and saleable condition. The following criteria applies to all items sold by Shelmerdine with the exception of Plants and Fashion.

  • We will gladly exchange or refund merchandise within 10 days. Items returned between 11 and 30 days will be refunded onto a Shelmerdine Gift Card. Gift Cards have no expiry date and can be used for any product or service we offer.
  • All sales of Gift Cards and items marked FINAL SALE cannot be returned for exchange, credit, or refund.
  • Christmas returns will be honored until March 15.
  • A 15% restocking fee may apply at our discretion.

Fashion

  • Items returned within 21 days will be fully refunded by way of Shelmerdine Gift Card. Fashion items include apparel, footwear, hats, purses, jewelry, and all fashion accessories.
  • Returns must be unworn, unaltered, and unwashed with all tags attached.
  • All earrings, swimwear, and undergarments are final sale.
  • For all other items, to be eligible for an exchange or Gift Card refund, the merchandise must be returned unworn with original tags attached. Items without original tags attached are non-refundable.

Indoor Plants

The following replacement policy pertains to all unsuccessful indoor plants. Replacements are made by way of new plants or Shelmerdine Gift Card. No cash refund.

  • Up to 1 Month – 100% Replacement
  • Up to 3 Months – 50% Replacement
  • 3 to 6 Months – 25% Replacement
  • Beyond 6 Months – No Replacement

Outdoor Plants

Shelmerdine’s plant warranty covers all zone hardy trees, shrubs, evergreens, vines and roses (zones 2&3) from the date of the original purchase until the end of the following growing season.* For example, plants purchased in 2020 will be guaranteed until October 2021.

  • Plants must be installed in the ground and cared for to be warranty.
  • Shelmerdine will replace the above listed plants ONE TIME ONLY if it fails to grow during the guaranteed period. Replacements are made on dead plant material only, by way of new plant material or a Shelmerdine Gift Card. NO CASH REFUNDS. Replacements are warrantied until the end of the growing season in which the plant was replaced*. Replacements for plants purchased at a discounted price will be made by way of Shelmerdine Gift Card for the purchase value of the original plant. Replacement plants purchased with a Replacement Gift Card are not valid for an overwinter warranty.
  • Shelmerdine’s plant warranty covers clematis, water lilies, perennials, tea roses, bulbs, roots, patio and all non-hardy plants (zone 4 and plus) until October 31 of the same growing season as it was purchased. Shelmerdine does not warranty the overwintering of these plants.
  • Shelmerdine reserves the right to deny plant exchanges or credits prior to May 31st depending on plant variety and seasonal conditions.
  • Shelmerdine cannot control growing conditions once the plant leaves our care. Shelmerdine is not responsible for damage or loss caused by animals, insects or severe weather conditions such as flooding, hail, neglect or changing landscapes.

*With the purchase of Myke® at the time of original installation the Myke 5 year warranty will apply to outdoor zone hardy plants providing all standard Myke guarantee conditions have been met.

Myke warranty replacements are valid ONE TIME ONLY by way of plant material only.
